In early childhood thoughts like anger, jealousy, and self belittlement become a pattern of thinking that causes one to feel yucky. Grandmommy suggest that you help your child become aware of these thoughts.
Here is a fun tool to help them change the bad thought habit into a good thought habit:
Remind her the main goal in life is to be happy. To be happy we have to become aware of the thoughts popping up in our mind.
Suggest to your child to think of the mind as a Kung Fu fighter standing guard to deflect the thoughts that say, “I’m not good enough” or “I am mad at so and so.” Then ask them to give themselves an imaginary medal of happy valor each time they kung fu that bad thought away.
Reassure them, their minds have infinite possibilities for creating their own life of happiness.
